5/22/18 / Formula E / Warm-Up
The ninth of twelve 2017/2018 Formula E races, taking place in Berlin, marks the season’s pinnacle event for Schaeffler. The team is returning to home turf. During similar events in recent years, the German fans – including many Schaeffler employees – have always given Team Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler an extra boost. The two drivers traveling to Berlin are in good shape. Title defender Lucas di Grassi has finished the last three races as runner-up, while local hero Daniel Abt recently celebrated his first Formula E victory. Just like last year, the race will be held on a 2.375-kilometer circuit on Berlin’s former Tempelhof airport.
Technology “made by Schaeffler”
With twelve races at ten events on five continents, the Formula E racing series calendar is busy this season. Three locations – Rome, Santiago de Chile and Zurich – are hosting Formula E races for the first time. The schedule at each event is tight: free practice, qualifying and the race(s) all take place within the space of just a few hours.
Schaeffler has been engaged in Formula E for years, highlighting its position as a pioneer in e-mobility. Learn more about what drives us, our Formula E activities and the innovative technologies “made by Schaeffler” here.
